Tent Pegging – originally a skill sport of the cavalry. This year, for the first time, the German Tent Pegging athletes will have the opportunity to prove themselves opposite the UK, where the sport has the longest tradition in Europe, at the 3rd German International Championships in Crawinkel, Thuringia.

From 7th September to 9th September 2018, the German Tent Pegging Union organizes the 3rd German International Championships. The challenge of the sport is to hit the smallest targets at full gallop with the help of a lance or a sword. As in previous years, various countries are sending their national teams to this tournament. Among others, guests from Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands and Switzerland are expected beside the team from Great Britain.

More exciting every year
Already last year, the exciting equestrian sport thrilled about 4.000 visitors at the international tournament. In addition to the competitions already held in 2016 and 2017, this year's championship has more demanding disciplines in the program, namely the so-called over-heads, that is with head-high targets. In order to gain points in these tests, which are also very gripping for the spectators, the rider must master both the handling of his weapon at head height and at ground level. The organizers are also happy about the successful youth development because once again the number of participating riders under the age of 20 is high.
